the new Bistro; Alfred's designed and
constructed by "Alfie's" grandsons

The then Captain Richard Wallace Annand
was awarded the first Victoria Cross of
the Second World War when serving with the
2nd Battalion, The Durham Light Infantry.
This life size bust was taken from the
full figure sculpture installed in the
South Shields Town Hall and is featured
in the "Public Sculptures" section. -
