St Paul's Church
Sketty, Swansea

West Glamorgan

Built in 1850, by virtue of an endowment from H. Hussey Vivian, the first Lord Swansea, St. Paul's church commands an elevated position at what was then the northern edge of the Vivian country estate.

Designed and built by architect Henry Woodyer, it was acclaimed as, "one of the best works of the period" by none other than the Chief Architect to Westminster Abbey.

The church is constructed from Cornish stone shipped especially in the Vivian's own vessels. The imposing 100 feet high spire is a landmark that can be seen for many miles around.
